Mary
Crochet
Louisiana
Folk Artist
Mary’s
wonderful artistic talent began to immerge at a very young age. Her first paintings were of angels and they
continue to be her favorite subject to paint.
While painting angels Mary is filled with joy
and light, peace and
tranquility. It is a time of great
spiritual closeness with her Lord.
Being
sure to keep her own style of creativity is extremely important to Mary. Therefore she is self-taught having noticed
that art classes tend to teach the instructor’s style.
Selling
her art for the public never occurred to her during those early times. It’s only been in the past few
years that
she began to create paintings for sale.
It brings her great delight to know that
others enjoy her artwork.
She
attends various art shows and has work in several shops in the area. Her paintings come on many types of
surfaces. It’s delightful to see
angels
and swamp scenes on all sorts of things from wood to canvas, from
greeting
cards to crab shells and all sorts of other items.
“Demonstrating
for others gives me an opportunity to do what
I love to do
while meeting a variety of people from all walks of life.
I enjoy being out here, having a good time
and most of all sharing my art
with others.”
Mary
gives God the honor and her gratitude for all she does. Mary is
fully aware that her talent is a
God-given gift.
He is her inspiration
for it all.
